WEB PORTFOLIO
|
Web design is really the entire process of creating a website. Research, site mapping, content development, and layout all take place before the art work even begins. Well, ideally, that's how it happens...
All of that pre-art planning work informs the art direction, but that's not all. A website needs to provide a great user experience (UX) as well. A well-functioning site gives your audience what it's looking for in a way that they expect. |
After production and launch, there's the maintenance. I encourage a long-term collaboration with clients where I keep everything updated on the backend and the frontend. Websites are a direct line to your audience/customers and if your information isn't up to date, then it's not serving you or your audience.
What's the saying?..."The cobbler's children have no shoes?" It's not quite that bad, but I am way behind on updating the Portfolio, but here's a small sampling:
Dharma Zephyr Insight Meditation Community
Dharma Zephyr sets the tone for visitors with a relaxing and compelling slideshow of beautiful images taken by members of their meditation community. The website is a bounty of information about insight meditation, Buddhism, teachers and resources presented concisely. Sitting group schedules, a calendar of retreats and programs, and a blog round out the contents.

Kilpatrick & Bullentini Law
Carson City Injury Attorneys, Charles Kilpatrick and Angela Bullentini were looking to update their website. It was important to maintain a brand that was consistent with current local advertizing. The site needed to present information concisely, be easy to navigate and have a clear message and call to action.

Berger Hannafin Architecture
Carson City-based architectural firm, BHA wanted a simple yet architecturally interesting portfolio website. Pulling from their vast array of projects, we whittled the portfolio down to demonstrate some of the phases of a project, while showcasing the finished product. Using their bold color palette and geometric sensibilities we built a structurally sound and beautiful web presence.

Sandra Wendel & Associates Landscape Architecture
SWLSA needed a portfolio website to demonstrate their full breadth of projects from public works to private residences. Sandra had a wealth of beautiful images that begged for attention. We built a site around her areas of focus including public works, institutional and residential landscapes. Incorporating her clean artistic sensibility and well-composed images of her beautifully designed landscapes we launched a simple and clean portfolio.
Sandra retired in 2017 after a long, productive career and so did her website. |
Slate Falls Outposts
A fishing outpost operation located in the Canadian Outback, Slate Falls Outposts was interested in updating their website. We decided to focus on the stunning beauty and complete escape they offer for the avid fisherman with a penchant for adventure. They fly you out to your well-appointed cabin on an island, where you command your own fishing vacation until your hosts return to fly you out.

Core | dining
A dining experience in Virginia City, Nevada. An historic location with a new story to tell (and a delicious one, at that!) Owners Richard Oates and Alexia Sober have claimed the old Cider Factory at Edith Palmer's Bed & Breakfast, where they bring a fresh culinary presence to the Comstock. They needed a website to introduce the Core atmosphere, culinary offerings (which change each week), a strong social media presence, a booking calendar for twice-a-month cooking classes, a reservation system and a CoreStore.
